Wellbeing

Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our school community is crucially important to us at Colmers. Wellbeing is an integral part of a happy and successful life. In 2023 Colmers School was awarded the National Wellbeing Award.

What is mental health?

We all have mental health; it is our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing. Our mental health can fluctuate daily, over time and can be affected by a range of factors.

How we support your child’s mental health.

Staff at Colmers spend a significant amount of time with pupils in our care and as such are well placed to identify children who are struggling and offer guidance or refer them to get the support they need. We have a full-time school counsellor and several part time counsellors in school. But here are other staff who could offer support:

Safeguarding Team

Heads of Year

Form Tutors and PSWs

The PSHE curriculum also focuses on mental health and what pupils can do to support their own wellbeing.

There is also a vast amount of support available in school but also on line. Please see below for the type of support there is available and a contact you can use to access support.
