The aim of Colmers is to ensure students are given every opportunity to succeed and find a career path that enthuses and excites them for the future.

A careers advisor meets with all students in year 11 and some students are seen more often, events are organized such as taster days, university days, assemblies, PSHE lessons on career related subjects, STEM trips and theatre trips.

Teachers present a real opportunity to encourage and motivate students to think about their future. They see students on a regular basis over many years and must take every opportunity to embed careers guidance into their lesson, whether that be linking learning to careers, talking about their own experiences and how they got into their career and having displays in your classroom that link your subject to real world jobs.

The way that good quality careers guidance is measured is through grading ourselves against the Gatsby Benchmarks.

Below are some useful links for teachers to understand their role in supporting the Colmers Careers Programme and ensuring our students leave ready to face their post 16 options with confidence and with high quality advice and guidance.

The environment is perfect for working and socialising.
