Year 7 literacy and numeracy catch-up premium In 2017-2018, the School received £16,578 Year 7 literacy and numeracy catch-up premium. Year 7 funding is spent on specific intervention programmes to support students’ development in literacy and numeracy. For both numeracy and literacy, funding has been spent on CAT testing to enable us to generate concise reports on screening, benchmarking, child growth and progress monitoring to inform planning. For literacy, funding has been spent on providing Intervention Leads for the weakest readers and writers. Students follow bespoke catch up programmes to help them to access the Literacy curriculum, as part of small group or 1:1 teaching. The funding has also been used to buy a licence for LEXIA and Toe by Toe, which are both Reading Intervention programmes and help to support our catch-up Literacy curriculum. For numeracy, students work with Intervention Leads in small group interventions. These are led by the mathematics team in the School.
